Landscape maintenance
Upkeep From the Contractor Who Knows How It Was Built
A yard is not finished when it is built. It is finished every couple of weeks, for years. Grass grows, beds fill in, sprinkler heads get clipped, and a slow leak underground shows up as a big number on a water bill and nothing else.
Paul has been a licensed landscape contractor since 2004, license 840163, C-27 Landscaping, bonded and covered by workers comp. That matters on maintenance because when something breaks he can actually fix it.
What a Maintenance Visit Actually Covers
The same every time so nothing gets skipped:
- Mowing and edging
- Trimming shrubs and keeping borders in shape
- Weeding the beds and keeping the mulch layer topped up
- Blowing down and clearing debris
- Checking the irrigation, zone by zone
- Flagging anything that is starting to go wrong, before it costs you
Plans are set around what your yard needs. A young planted yard needs different attention to a mature one, and it all sits inside our lawn care service.
The Sprinkler Check Is The Biggest Saving on the Bill
Running the irrigation zone by zone on every visit saves more money than anything else in landscape maintenance. Eastern Municipal Water District requires irrigation only between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m., so your system runs while you are asleep. A cracked head or a valve that will not close can pour water out all night, and the first sign is the bill.
So we run every zone while we are standing there, in daylight, and watch for:
- Heads that are broken, sunken, blocked or aimed at the driveway
- Wet patches and dry patches that point to a line problem
- Valves that keep seeping after the zone shuts off
- Run times that no longer suit the season
EMWD requires leaks repaired within 48 hours. EMWD is currently at Stage 1, Supply Watch, so there is no day-of-week limit right now, which is a good reason to keep a system tight while there is no pressure on it.

Turf is low maintenance, not no maintenance. Fibres flatten where people walk, dust builds up in the pile, and pet areas need rinsing or they start to smell. Menifee code requires turf kept looking like a well maintained lawn, free of weeds, debris, tears, holes and depressions.
On a turf yard, a visit includes:
- Brushing the pile back up where it has flattened
- Clearing leaves and debris off the surface and out of the borders
- Rinsing down, especially where pets use it
- Weeding the edges and the seams
- Checking for tears, holes and dips, and for infill that has moved
Anything we turn up that needs more than a tweak, on turf or on grass, goes straight to sprinkler repair.
Homes and Commercial Properties
We maintain both. A commercial property needs the grounds clear and clean since it is the first thing anyone sees, and irrigation failures get expensive fast because there is more of it.
We service the Inland Valley Region, along the 15 and 215 freeways, out of the City of Menifee, California. Free estimates either way.

Straight answers to landscaping questions
What is included in a maintenance visit?
Mowing and edging, trimming, weeding the beds, topping up mulch, clearing debris, and a check of the irrigation zone by zone. Anything starting to fail gets flagged while it is still small, before it turns into a repair you have to pay for.
Why check the sprinklers every time?
Because it saves the most money. Your system runs at night under EMWD's rules, between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m., so a leak can run for weeks without anyone seeing it. Running the zones in daylight is the only way to catch it, and EMWD requires leaks repaired within 48 hours.
Does artificial turf need maintenance?
Yes, just less of it. It needs brushing where it has flattened, debris clearing, rinsing down in pet areas, and the edges kept weed free. Menifee code expects turf kept free of weeds, debris, tears, holes and depressions, so it is a code matter as well as a tidy one.
Do you maintain commercial properties?
Yes. Homes and commercial sites both, across Menifee and the Inland Valley along the 15 and 215 freeways. Same crew, same license, and a schedule set around what the property actually needs.
Can you fix things you find, or do I have to call someone else?
He can fix them. Paul is a licensed landscape contractor, C-27, not a mowing crew, so a broken head, a leaking line or a drainage problem gets handled by the same person who spotted it.
Are there watering day limits right now?
Not in EMWD territory. The district is at Stage 1, Supply Watch, so there is no day of the week limit at the moment. There are always permanent rules though, including the 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. window and no watering within 48 hours of measurable rain.
